The Flyer

For this years 100 Days 100 Miles Challenge, we wanted to create a flyer that had summer vibes, so we decided to include a stylized Adirondack landscape with a bright gradient background. Included in the design are 3 landmarks, one from each of the towns in the Tri-Lakes. These landmarks are the Olympic Ski Jumps in Lake Placid, bear statues that can be found at Riverside Park in Saranac Lake, and a statue of Tupper Lake’s town mascot, the Lumberjack. The sign at the front of the design includes a QR-code that will bring those who scan it to the registration form, which also has some more information about the event.

Social Media

The committee has struggled a bit in the past with their social media presence and their ability to create engagments. Previously, word of mouth was their main way to encourage people to participate in such events. I suggested including some local landmarks not only to create a custom design for the area, but also in hopes that participants will use the pictures landmarks as photo-ops. There was a graphic creating encouraging participants to share photos of their adventures throughout the challenge. Social media graphics were also created to mark the 25, 50, and 75 day milestones in the challenge. Each post left off with a question that prompts participants to comment below the post.

Research was done regarding hashtag trends in order to give the posts the best chance to be seen by a wider audience, hopefully prompting even those from a far to donate to the cause.
