Client Background: The Tri-Lakes Relay for Life Committee organizes annual events to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. In 2021, they chose "Game Night" as the theme for their event. They wanted to create a unique visual identity for the event that would attract participants and donors.

Project Goals:

Design an eye-catching flyer

Create a sticker to place around town to promote the event

Outcome: During the initial consultation, we discussed the events theme and the desired visual style. The committee wanted to avoid the typical board game look and instead opted for a retro arcade aesthetic. This choice capitalized on 2021 design trends while aligning with the message "Game Over for Cancer". In the flyer we incorporated retro arcade elements, vibrant colors, and nostalgic video game imagery. Two bear characters, representing statues located in the park where the event is held, were depicted playing an old-school arcade game called "The Cure". The mission of the game appears across the screen: "Spread cancer awareness and fundraise for cancer research." A retro mountain scene serves as a backdrop, enhancing the nostalgic feel and nodding to the area's mountainous scenery. Pinks and purples were predominantly used to signify breast cancer awareness. Font choices were made to evoke classic video game aesthetics.
